Design studio for children based in Perth-Australia
Mycboo studio focuses on creative playkits and spaces for children developed in the spirit of innovation and dream on environmental thriving for our planet.
We design tools for the imagination engaging with abstract and symbolic ideas that create opportunities for lateral thinking, development of STEAM skills and above all curiosity and engagement in learning.
Our ethos is based on the thrill of play as a process of discovery, and design as a tool in this journey. Our work ranges from educational design workshops, development of playkits, to design and construction of pop-ups, playgrounds, exhibitions, and anything that involves play and design.
Construction & Balance Toy
YBY
YBY™ is a balance and construction toy, that goes away from the traditional square
model’ of construction play. It has been designed as an open-ended system of
connecting pieces, to enhance creativity, engagement and instigate action for our
environment through sustainable consumption and production. It uses certified
biomaterials like bamboo and mycelium based composites. YBY™ means 'Earth' in Tupi, an archaic language spoken by the indigenous peoples of Brazil in the 1500's.
